Overview of Duties

  • Provide patients with quality preventive care, accurately and completely record observations and recommend treatment to dentists.

  • Provide oral health education for the purpose of improving overall health outcomes.

  • Manage a hygiene schedule which simultaneously maximizes production and quality patient care.

  • Works with clinic staff and dentists to assure positive, effective and accurate communication to patients regarding treatment, appointments, referrals and after care.

  • Provide a welcoming and proactive environment to patients and visitors.

  • Participate in community education activities to increase awareness and encourage oral health.

  • Works with entire staff to identify facility needs, manage a productive schedule that emphasizes quality patient care, assure smooth patient flow and maintain a welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualified Candidates

  • Education/Qualification: Graduate of a CODA accredited Dental Hygiene program and licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Minnesota.

  • Required Skills: Proficient in the use of electronic medical records, patient scheduling and digital x-ray equipment; detail oriented with the ability to multi-task freely, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment; excellent communication skills are a must.

  • Preferred Skills: Leadership qualities and a commitment to community service; sensitivity to patient needs, especially children.

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, bend, twist, reach, grip, talk and walk for lengthy periods.  Additional physical requirements are climbing, balancing, carrying, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, hearing/listening and seeing/observing.
